Lean Operating Systems
Just as management systems for quality, environment and occupational health exist to give organizations a platform to drive sustainability and improvements in these areas, lean operating systems can be designed to provide the platform and foundation for sustainability and continuity of lean philosophies and initiatives. Such systems are typically analogous to Toyota's management system, in the form of the well-known Toyota Production System.
Lean Enterprises deploy lean operating systems (also known lean business systems) as a way of running their business. Linked to a business case and vision, it provides a system of governance for the organization's lean strategy, deployment and initiatives.
