Ergonomics
What is Ergonomics?
Also known as human factors, it means designing for human use. Ergonomics is the application of the understanding of human capabilities and limitations to positively impact all aspects of our lives such as design of products, workplace, physical environment and job design. It is a domain of work that focuses on human beings, i.e. us, and our interaction with everthing around us (products, equipment, facilities, procedures and the environment) that we use in work and everyday living. By apply ergonomics principles, what we are doing is to change the things we use and the environment in which we use these things to better match our capabilities, limitations and needs.

Why Ergonomics?
It is important to fit the work that you do, and the environment that you work and live in with your human limitations. This is the only way to circumvent the innate limitations (physical or psychological) that we as human beings possess. Therefore, gaining an understanding of the task or jobs that we do is important so that a safe, satisfying and more effective environment can be achieved to optimise our work performance.
What do we do for our clients?
Our ergonomics program has 2 objectives. They are:
-
To improve effectiveness and efficiency of the work that you carry out;
- To help you gain desirable values such as improved safety, comfort, job satisfaction & quality of life, reduced fatigue and stress, and greater user acceptance of the things that you do and use.
