What is the difference between coaching and consulting?
Coaching entails guiding the client towards adopting possible solutions for a broad range of issues; whereas, consulting entails working on a specific problem and delivering the appropriate solution for the client. More importantly, coaching is a proactive approach to solving a problem as the client is fully empowered and guided with the resources from the coach to do so; on the other hand, consulting is a passive means of solving a problem by the consultant on behalf of the client. In the ballpark, coaching enables continuity of solutions since it works on the basic guiding principles of empowerment and accountability.
